go green NRV encourages businesses to participate in this NRV initiative regardless of how many or how few sustainable practices are currently implemented in your buildings and operations. The goal of ggNRV participating businesses is to progressively implement sustainable practices that are feasible for your business plan. As we all apply practices where we can, we will, together, make a significant difference in the New River Valley environment. go green NRV presents a letter of recognition to the following businesses: Chris Lewis, Shaklee Independent Distributor New River Valley Community Services ****** Mission Our mission is to promote a Green Business Program for businesses in the New River Valley, including modified programs addressing industry specific green initiatives for the various businesses in the Valley. Background In the fall of 2008 Sustainable Blacksburg sponsored a community workshop entitled "Greening Your Business". From that workshop, staff of local businesses formed a committee to research and develop a local "green business development program". In December 2008 two groups were formed - a small "working group" that would research and consolidate information, and a larger group that would discuss the information and recommendations provided by the working group and make appropriate decisions. These groups are now known as "go green NRV". Serving on the working group are associates of local professional firms, retail and industrial businesses, and municipal employees. To see a list of businesses in the New River Valley currently participating in the go green NRV program, please visit our 'Participating Business Page'. Endorsements "The Pulaski County Board of Supervisors" "Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County" Thank you Biz Net Technologies (providing hosting services)
